This is Ann’s and Magali’s weekend: After a short plane ride we arrived in Paris and went directly to the Hotel we were staying at.
The next morning we started our tour with the host family at Notre Dame de Paris. Because it burnt a few days ago we couldn’t go inside but we still saw it. After that we took the metro to the Eiffel Tower, which we looked at while enjoying our Café.
To get an overview of Paris we took a Boat a so-called „Bateau Mouche“ which drove us over the river Seine. For lunch we ate Spanish food at the Restaurant of the Louvre were afterwards we saw Mona Lisa.
From the Louvre we walked to the Champs-Elysées stopping shortly at „Concorde“ & the „Arc de Triomphe“ to finally arrive at „Ladurée“ were we enjoyed our Tea and Macarons.
As a souvenir, we bought some more for some of the other students. To complete the Journey, we went all the way up to Montmartre where we enjoyed a beautiful view over Paris and a delicious dinner with friends of the family.
On the next day we went to Cologne. We arrived after a long trip by car and after lunch we made a big shopping tour through the city. As we finished we took a break at the Rhine before meeting the family for dinner.
We ate at a typical restaurant for Cologne a so-called „Brauerei“. As it was the night before Easter there was the „OsterNacht“ at Cologne Cathedral. The Archbishop of Cologne read from the Bible -we are not sure about it- after that everyone got a candle and passed over the flame so that finally the Cathedral Which was dark at first was filled with light.
On Sunday morning we started our day by celebrating easter with a typical Easter Breakfast with presents and after this we searched Easter Eggs that were hidden in the garden.
After lunch we left again to do a little sightseeing tour. We saw the Rhine and the Cathedral again, took a look at Magali’s school & enjoyed the skyline. After drinking some fresh Ice Tea we went to the „Kirmes“ with some friends and drove the bumper car which was kinda cool. We really liked it. After doing that, we came back home and ate Döner which we really enjoyed and we finished our weekend by watching a Ghibli Movie.
We both liked it. It was a perfect weekend for both of us.
